Show P.C. Powerlifters Selected for Meet the 135 pound class. Nick Caravaglia leads the 155 pound class weight-lifters squatting 320 pounds, 15 pounds over the record. Steve Toly, 185 pound class weight-lifter, is squatting 335 pounds five over the state record. Tom Tebbs may be the man to watch in the- 175 pound class as he has been dead lifting 429 pounds in practice. Toly has also been impressive in his bench lifting with presses of 245 pounds. The state competition will be at Park City High School on May 18. Park City High School finished a two day power lift contest on April 28 to decide who will represent the school at the state championships held here on May 18. Bob Burns, Director of the power lift activities, said seven schools competed in states last year and he expected to see all seven this year. "North Summit has won the championship for the past five years in a row and we'll give them our best shot," Burns said. Park City eyes will be on John Newland, who is gunning for his third consecutive conse-cutive heavyweight title. The Miners will make their presence known in the squat events more than the dead lift and bench activities. Three Miners are already squatting enough weight to best the state reeord in their respective weight classes.
