Show r City Terminates Contract ! With Fire District The City Council agreed last week to cancel its i existing maintenance agree-i agree-i ment with the Park City Fire J Protection District. Al- though the City never billed J the District for the services, the agreement called for i Park City to be paid for the ! work at a rate of $25 per J hour. The decision was J made to cancel the agree-J agree-J ment after the District J threatened to sue the City for j damages sustained to a pumper truck while in the j municipal shops for mainten- J ance. The' truck was J apparently left out in the colo J, and a pump froze which must ' ' ' ' be repaired. According to City Attorney Tom Clyde, the City received a bill for he new pump and additional repairs to the fire engine as well. Clyde said the City was willing to pay for the damaged pump but not for the additional repairs including includ-ing a new muffler. "Basically" Clyde said, Vthe City resented the tone of the letter requesting payment when the City hadn't even been charging the District for the work." Park City Fire Marshall Herb Johnson said the District will probably now have to take their equipment . to Salt Lake for maintenance.. . , |
