Show Jazz Fest Plans Underway The 2nd annual Park City Jazz Festival will begin Saturday, June 4th, according to Don Millecam, coordinator of the Festival. Four days of music provided by 12 outstanding jazz bands will entertain Park City visitors. Outdoor concerts are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 4th and 5th, and Saturday and Sunday, June 11th and 12th. Three concerts will be held each day at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. In addition to the Festival activities on Swede Alley behind Main Street in Park City, many of the performing artists will also be performing in the local restaurants restaur-ants and clubs each evening to encourage visitors to remain in Park City. Some of this year's musical entertainment will be provided for by a host of musical talent from the University of Utah and the Intermountain Area. The extraordinary University of Utah Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Henry Wolking will be performing some of Mr. Wolking's original jazz compositions. composi-tions. This group, plus music from some of the best jazz groups in the Intermountain Area, promises to make this year's jazz festival an enjoyable event for visitors and residents alike. Among the groups returning this year are Mark Channey and the Johnny People, as well as Jeffrey D. Moffet, The Mike Clinco Quintet, University of Utah Guitar Ensemble, Steve Bethers Trio, Lloyd Miller's Dixieland Band, Merrill Clark Group, Brent Ryder and his Tuesday Dues Band, and the John Poulson Quartet. "Together, these groups will provide us with a welcome rendition of some of the music world's best contemporary jazz," said Don Millecam, Jazz Festival coordinator. Millecam added that proceeds from the Festival will go to the University of Utah Music Scholarship Fund. Tickets for the 4-day event are available in Park City at the Car 19 Restaurant and in Salt Lake City at Mother's Earth Things, 875 East 9th South. Jazz Festival lodging packages are available through Park City Central Reservations Reser-vations and include complimentary complimen-tary Festival tickets.
