'East of the Sun, West of the Moon" will follow July 2 through 6 (except for the 4th); then "Tales from Two Trunks" will play July 9 through 13. The Afternoon Players, at Pioneer Memorial Theatre, are a group of 12 people dedicated to bringing good entertainment to Young People. Started by Vern Adix, Supervising Director of The Young People's Theatre at PMT, The Afternoon Players present an annual season of three plays that run for a total of six weeks. This season's company is exceptionally talented and experienced and each mem-' bcr has a good background in performance and expertise in such diverse areas as pup-. pup-. petry. music, dance,- even technical theatre. Each of the three plays runs for one week and then ''V V1'- . ... they go into repertory and a different play is presented daily for three .weeks". All performances are in the air conditioned Babcock Theatre, downstairs at Pio-; neer Memorial Theatre. They play .Monday through Friday (except holidays) at 2pm. Opening Monday, June 25 is "The Princess and the Swineherd," a play adapted by Supervising Director Vern Adix from a story by Hans Christian Andersen. It shows us -a very beautiful but spoiled and selfish princess who. through the wit and wisdom of a King and a Swineherd learns a very important lesson. This very |
