Show Lodgers Opt For Local Reservations The Park City Lodging Association voted Monday night to set up a much discussed local reservation service to handle reservations reserva-tions and bookings for the Park City hosteleries. The new service was made possible after Nick Badami, chairman of the Pari City Ski Corp. offered $2,000 towards to-wards its creation. Apart from the reservation service which will be located in the Chamber of Commerce's Com-merce's new offices on Main Street, the lodgers will joint venture with the resort the production of a comprehensive comprehen-sive brochure. To cover their share of the costs incurred by the reservation service and 375,000 of the brochures, lodgers will contribute a $2 per pillow fee. Other costs will be defrayed by a . commission charged for the service. Moana Corp. will apparently appar-ently not operate their reservation res-ervation system next year, but Empire Travel will continue to provide Park City lodges with bookings. Chamber Director, Amanda Aman-da Peterson said she felt the two organizations would work effectively hand in hand for the betterment of Park City's tourist trade and recommended that Bill Shorter, Laura Thomas, Marve Steadman and Jan Peterson represent the Chamber in setting the system up. Ms. Peterson also told lodgers of plans to publish a simple summer brochure and asked that they submit pertinent information to the Chamber as soon as possible. Earl Hansen of the Utah Ski Association explained that earlier plans for unilateral unilat-eral script money exchangeable exchange-able for lift tickets at all Utah resorts have fallen through. He blamed uncooperative attitudes at some resorts and lack of time, suggesting that individual lodges work out a program with respective resorts. re-sorts. In closing, Ralph Brown, Jim Carr and Dennis O'Brian were reappointed to the board. |
