Show Lodgers Learn Promotion Plan Dick Frost., general manager man-ager of Park West, announced announ-ced at a meeting of the Lodging Lod-ging Association this week that his resort will offer a 33 percent commission to lodge owners this winter on vouchers for a single $7.50 day pass. The relatively high commission was effected to entice lodge owners to send those guests not involved in a Park City resort package to Park West to. ski. Frost however, mentioned that the commission offered for 3, 5 and 7 day packages would re- ! main at the standard 10 per ; cent rate. The Association was also told by Frost that the legal j and financial entanglements surrounding the Park West condominiums is gradually being settled and management manage-ment tentatively expects as j many as 20 of the units to be put on the market some- , tine this season. Park West ! is also expanding its transportation trans-portation system between Park City and the Snyder- i ville resort. 1 Other business discussed i i by the Association pertained to "Interline Week" which has been scheduled for January Jan-uary 18-25. "Interline Week" is a week offered by most major resorts when lodges and other facilities are offered of-fered to airline employees at a discount. Lodgers decided to go a-head a-head with the proposed week and issue a flyer describing local facilities. Laura Thomas of the Park City Resort revealed that the ski area has been approached approa-ched by American Airlines who would like to hold ski races for their racing team the week prior to "Interline Week." Furthermore, she indicated that invitations have been sent to other airline air-line ski teams to participate in the races. The airline has tentative plans to invite the "Air Force I" ski team as well as President Ford and Robert Redford. The intent in-tent to offer discounts to the teams. They did, however, stipulate that reservations would be on an availability basis. |
