Show George C. Payne George C. Payne, 86, of Route 2, Weweka, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, May 14, at the Weweka Memorial Hospital Hos-pital after a short illness. He was born February 1889 in Park City, Utah Territory, to John and Mary Fountain Payne. He was born in Ontario Canyon and very proud of his Utah heritage. He is the last of his family to survive, being preceeded in death by his parents, also five sisters and four brothers. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in France with the 2nd Engineers. Engin-eers. He lived and worked in Park City for many years, but moved to California in 1937. He has lived in Oklahoma Okla-homa for the past seven years with his niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Al-fred Capps. (Ella Dority). Mr. Payne is also survived by the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Edward (Mary O'Hagen) Cooper, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. Frank (Catherine O'Hagan) Sullivan, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Frank (F ranees Johnson) John-son) Kimbrough,Ojai, Calif.; Mrs. Harold (Lucille Johnson) John-son) Sprung, Los Angeles; Mrs. Henry (Emma Payne) Hubert, Whittier, Calif.; Mrs. John (Betty Billings) Macis, Whittier; Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth (Dolores Heintz)Killen, San Diego; Milton Dority, Long Beach; Melvin Dority, Salt Lake City and Patrick O'Hagan, Butte, Montana. Services were held in the Seminole Catholic Church, May 16. A flag ceremony was presented at graveside j by the American Legion of' Weweka and the flag later presented to Mrs. Capps. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery in Weweka, Okla. |
