Show EDITORIAL Spring fever Last week, the weatherman played a cruel trick on Park City. Instead of the cold and snowy weather we have come to expect and appreciate this year especially after last year's snow drought he gave us blue skies and balmy sunshine. The beautiful weather caused many local residents, we are sure, to look longlingly, if briefly, into their closets at their stored away tennis racquets, fishing poles and backpacks. Inevitably, it all ended Monday with another snowstorm and forecasts of more snow to continue through the week. Last year, it should be remembered, the majority of the snowfall didn't even occur until March, when it fell almost -continuously throughout the month. For the sake of the local economy, we are glad to an addition to the quickly diminishing snowpack at the resorts, and attention will return to skiing and other winter activities. But we must admit it was awfully nice to see a hint of spring. Can rodeos and softball be far behind. |
