Officers of WSCS Are Installed Here Sunday New officers of the Park City W.S.C.S. were made mindful of their responsibilities when they were installed by District president Mildred Persinger and Marjorie Geertgens at services at the Community Church on Sunday, June 27. Exhorting the officers to use their hearts, minds, souls and strength in the performance of their duties Mrs. Persinger said that an open channel of love would result. Those installed were: president, Carolyn Bloom; Jeanne Gee, vice-president; Mary Taylor, secretary; Mary Santy, treasurer; chairman chair-man of Christian Social relations re-lations is Connie Andrus; Mary Wells, chairman Missionary Education; Opal Deeben, chairman chair-man of the nominating committee; commit-tee; and Twildi Aman, Spiritual Life committee chairman. An elaborate and delicious smorgasbord, prepared by Mrs. Aman and her committee; was enjoyed by all and the remark was overheard that if theAmans feed souls and minds as well as they do the bodies, everyone every-one there would be going in the right direction. How To Display American Flag Displaying the American flag takes a lot of know-how. There is the right and the wrong way to fly the flag, drape the flag, carry the flag. The flag, when carried in a parade should either be on the marching right, the flag's own right, or, when there is a line of flags, the American flag should be in front of the center of that line. Never display the flag from a float except from a staff, or so suspended that it falls free When the flag, is displayed over a street, place the union so it faces either north or east, depending on the direction direc-tion of the street. Whenever the flag is hoistered or lowered or when the flag is passing in a parade, all persons should face the flag, stand at attention and salute. A man with a hat on should remove it and hold it over his heart with his right hand; all others should salute by placing plac-ing their right hands over their hearts and. remaining that way until the flag has passed. |
