Show Carnival Gains New Name: Winter Wassail The next meeting of the Winter Win-ter Wassail committee will be held Monday evening December 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Park City West. And what is the Winter Wassail Was-sail committee? That's the new identification of the Winter Carnival. Helen Norton, active member mem-ber of the Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, came up with the suggestion sug-gestion that the word Wassail, which as most people know, means merrymaking and celebration cele-bration and is most frequently used as a Wassail Bowl, might be an interesting name for the winter carnival here so Winter Win-ter Wassail it is. At the November meeting of the Chamber of Commerce many suggestions were made and committees reported on tentative plans for the event. Some entries for the Queen contest have been received but no one as yet has signed up for the Prince and Princess contests. Any five to eight year old boy or girl may be registered register-ed at the Chamber of Commerce office on Main Street and a drawing will be held in January to select the youngsters who will have these titles. Help is needed in planning for the Winter Wassail and the Chamber office will be happy to receive suggestions. So, everyone remember let's all go Wassailing on January Jan-uary 22 and 23! |
