Show 7 r r- ' Council Hears of Railroad Tovn; Parking Problem Becomes Worse through the property. Councilman Gasparac suggested sug-gested meeting with the County Commission to discuss the dump and a possibility of County participation. Mayor Sullivan also advised some of the Council to attend the next Commission Meeting to discuss problems pertinent to both the City and County. The parkingproblem was discussed dis-cussed at great length. Everyone Every-one agrees that parking all over town is worse than it has ever been. The officers were instructed to issue tickets to all violators. The Marshal was instructed to check cars parked on the street and see if they are off the right of way enough to allow proper plowing. All citizens cit-izens will be asked to dig out a plicc for cfich vehicle. Citizens will also be asked to move cars at times when the street crew is trying to widen the roads. The Marshal was also instructed in-structed to issue citations for littering to those who insist on putting garbage out on the streets on days other than the regular day for pick up. The attorney will be asked to check on the mobile law governing gov-erning municipalities. The payroll for the period November 1, to 15th was $2,362. 25. This being all the business to come before this meeting, it was adjourned. Next meeting will be December 2, 7:30 p.m. Violet Terry. Nov. 18, 1971 Mayor Sullivan presided over this meeting. All Councilmen answered to roll call, except Councilman Durante. Marshal McAlevy and Supervisor Georgio were also present, and Councilman-elect, Bob Hays. Minutes of the previous meeting meet-ing were read and approved. Mr. Dewey Anderson came to the meeting to discuss a proposed pro-posed Railroad Village in the area. Part of the property involved in-volved is in city limits but the greater part is outside the limits. He had a survey of the property but no plans for the village. He explained that plans would be drawn up by the architect arch-itect as soon as the Council feel they can approve the project. The area would also contain a mobile home unit. Mr. Anderson stated they could produce their own water from a well on the property, but they would have to have sewer facilities. He also stated if the project was approved they would desire to be annexed into city limits. Councilman Martinez stated the sewer problem would take some study. Councilman Gasparac Gas-parac suggested having a special meeting with the Council-Elect, the City Council and the attorney to discuss the project pro-ject and its problems. The Council agreed and the date for the meeting was set for Tuesday, November 23, 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Jeanne Gee came to the meeting to ask the Council for help in solvingthe parkingproblem. parkingprob-lem. She stated the parking lot would be kept open by Treasure Mountain Inn but she asked that . the access roads be kept open and also asked for a sign to direct the tourists to the parking park-ing lot. The Council agreed to help as much as possible. Mr. Sam Latkin was present to discuss his application to move a railroad car in for living liv-ing quarters. The council asked Mr. Latkin to be at the meeting Tuesday, when the Railroad City project will be discussed. Mr. Bob Dean came to the meeting to ask permission to go ahead with plans for a snow carnival. He stated it would be similar to last year but larger. The Council gave their approval. ap-proval. The Council gave permission to the Utah Power & Light to move the power pole located near the Tom Sullivan residence resid-ence on Empire Avenue. The dump site was discussed. dis-cussed. Mr. Phil Hughes had checked out the site and he reported there might beaprob-lem beaprob-lem with the power lines going |
