J Hess less have been called by the First Presidency of the Church of f Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter Saints to be president of the new Western Australian Mission Mission Mission Mis Mis- sion in Adelaide PRES HESS and his wife Fern are the parents of six Jerry children-Jerry attending BYU I after serving a mission in the Central Atlantic states Tad attending the University of Utah after serving a mission in northern California Steve now serving a mission in New England Chri Christine tine Anne and Paul all I attend Davis County Schools The three younger children will vill accompany their parents to Australia PRES HESS has been stake President for six and one-half one years of the Davis Stake a counselor for 11 years bishop of f the Farmington ward three years an LOS chaplain in the navy in world war II for three years He has had the honor of r being the second LOS chaplain to be chosen to serve in the navy Pres Hess is a graduate of the University of Utah Law School He has served as Davis County Attorney for 16 years and Farmington City Attorney for many years He won the Tuttle award for outstanding county officials in 1963 HE SERVED one term as president of the Davis County Bar Association At pres present nt he heis heis heis is practicing law in Clearfield with Duffy Palmer and Alfred Van Mrs Hess at present is serving serving serving ing as f first counselor in the 3rd ward Relief Society and has served one and one-half one years She has been the organist organist organist or or- for many years served as chorister and taught a social social social so so- cial science class for eight years SHE IS A daughter of the late Elijah B.
