Show City Council Okays Labor Day Celebration; Museum Gaining mission has to play in the issuing is-suing of licenses. They have no authority to grant licenses and their only duty is to rule on the zoning of the business. This was agreed upon and is so stated in the ordinance. Councilman Robert Burns reported re-ported he has made contact with the State Department of Highways High-ways and the City can buy a Patrol car that has been renovated. The price and condition con-dition of the car was discussed and it was decided to make the purchase. A letter to this effect will be sent to the Highway High-way Department immediately. Councilman Burns recom- mended buyinganother car when one is available. The City does need more than one police car. The Police have to use private cars when the regular vehicle is in-operable. The Council voted to buy a new radio for the car. The bills were presented and approved for payment. Thepay-roll Thepay-roll for the period August 1, to 15th was $2,369.10. Councilmen answering to roll call were: Robert Burns Jr., Arthur Durante, Clements Hansen and Richard Martinez. Others present were Marshal McAlevy, and Supervisor Georgio. Minutes of the previous meeting meet-ing were read and approved. Mr. Dave Novelle came to the meeting to report on the Labor Day Festivities. He read a statement from last year's celebration. He asked for the donation from the city, the same amount as last year. The Council Coun-cil voted unanimously to donate the same amount. He also asked for help with the materials needed for the Muckingcontest, and for-repairs or. the rest rooms at the Park. TheCouncil agreed to do what they could. Jerry Motley came to the meeting to ask the Council for permission to use the City sewage sew-age disposal plant to dump sewage sew-age from septic tanks, he services. The Council gave him permission to use the system provided a contract is drawn up and he contacts the supervisor super-visor each time he dumps. Mr. William Coleman presented pre-sented a plan for a skating rink to the Council. The plan was read and discussed. The Council Coun-cil agreed the plan was a good one and that a skating rink would definitely be an asset to the town, but the location was not approved. Mr. Coleman was told to check into another location and to meet with the Parks Committee again. Mrs. Niles Andrus was present pre-sent to report on the progress made on the Museum Building. She reported Mr. Richard Martinez Mar-tinez has made the bars for the window and that show cases were donated by George Poly-chronis Poly-chronis and Rosalyn Grose. Arthur Durante donated the paint and Leon Uriarte repaired the broken window. She wishes to thank all these people for their generosity. She asked the Council for floor coverings. She was instructed to check into what was needed to purchase the coverings. ' Mike Dontje came to the meeting to thank the Council and the Park City Police force for their fine cooperation during the Art Festival. He reports it was even bigger and better than last year.
