Show Sale of Bonds in Good Start January Savings Bond sales got off to a brisk start according accord-ing to figures released today by Wendell E. Gile, vonunteer Utah State Savings Bonds chairman. chair-man. Bond sales in January for Summit County came to $7,882 and according to David L. Big-ler, Big-ler, 1972 Utah State Savings Bonds Campaign Chairman, total state sales reached $2,627,227 or 9.4 percent of the 1972 quota of $27,800,000. Nationally, Bond sales figures fig-ures reflected the same upward trend as sales of Series E Bonds alone amounted to $496 million mil-lion 21 percent above sales for January 1971, and a 25-year record rec-ord for any January. H Bond sales came to $25 million-a million-a 25-percent increase. Further, with the inclusion of Freedom Shares withdrawn from sales on July, 1970-holdings now exceed ex-ceed $55 billion, another all-time all-time high. |
