Show IBy I By LYN CONNELLY THERE HERE are times when it is difficult dif- dif t 1 for 1 the average to follow the train of thought of the so-called so experts behind 1 the television scenes Some time ago NBC had a very fine little childrens children's program starring genial genial genial ge ge- ge- ge nial Win Then they decided that it had to be tossed aside in favor of the more sensational sensational sensational sensa sensa- Home Another nework network network net net- work picked Win up after mothers had set up a hue and cry over the loss of the show For some soma reason or another nother this seemed to effect role in NBC NBC's Haw Hawkins s Falls In this show he played a kindhearted kind kind- kind 1 j hearted carefree sort of bumbling bumbling bumbling bum bum- bling character devoted to his wife and baby Once he moved his animal show over to another network however for no other reason except that he has the bad habit of liking to eat and making I sure his family does too the kindly character he he played turned into a complete monster not monster not only running off with another woman but giving his wife a rough time over their offspring This was NBC's method of easing Win out of the serial but the turnabout was as phony as a vice-president's vice 1 title An untimely death would have served the purpose just aswell aswell ast as well and still been within the as realm of plausibility But nothing is done the easy way in in television PLATTER CHATTER I CAPITOL CAPITOL Theres There's Theres another Paris son song apparently apparently the market market market mar mar- ket on this city is inexhaustible At any rate Dean Martin clicks nicely with Under the I I Bridges of Paris Reverse has Young and Foolish a beautiful new show tune Rusty Old Halo Is given a nice rendition by Bill BUI Lowrey who backs It up with I Dreamed Of a Hillbilly leaven leav- leav Heaven neav 1 en The new and cute Twee dlee diee Dee Is done In pert fashion fashion by Vicki Young Flip side has Tears on My lUy Pillow |
