M Sanchez died Saturday evening at the Miners' Miners hospital I Deceased was born In this city Nov 19 19 1937 a n son of ot Alphonzo and Eva Sanchez Maynard was a popular student of ot the high school and was athletic manager He was a member of the LIDS church holding bolding the office of priest He was also active in Boy Scout work and held beld the honor of being an Eagle Scout He is survived by his parents four I brothers Max Merrill Ferrall Dean and Bennie Beanie Lee of this city and Walter La LaRay LaRay LaRay Ray with the U. U S. S Army in Europe grandmother Mrs Katherine Heber Funeral services were conducted Wednesday Wednesday Wed Wed- at 1 J pm p.m. from the Park City First ward chapel Bishop McNaughton McNaughton Mc- Mc Naughton officiating Burial was in the City cemetery A A. A TRI TRIBUTE TO MAYNARD About five lve years ago I first met Maynard he he- wanted to Join the Scout I I troop I worked along with him as he be advanced in rank from Tenderfoot to Eagle Eagie Although Eagle is the highest rank a Scout can obtain that was not the way Mayn Maynard rd seen it He started to look look- for other awards He attended as a patrol leader later he be was promoted to senior patrol leader Last November he be was raised to Junior assistant Scoutmaster He also had bad a year two-year perfect attendance pin In 1952 Maynard was wai awarded a special award at Camp Steiner The Order of the Uinta Moon We hiked biked to Camp Tracy Wigwam over the mountains back of Snyderville One of ot th the Scouts was having baving trouble with his pack Maynard with other Scouts gave assistance and carried the pa pack k to the top of ot the mountain I hiked biked the Pioneer Trail on snowshoes snowshoes snowshoes snow- snow shoes with Maynard it was rough going cold cold snowing and finally rain I know Maynard was tired and his pack was heavy beavy but never a complaint from him bun In all I have traveled with Maynard over miles from Canada to Mexico He always accepted the good with the bad So I knew Maynard as no other Scoutmaster ster did From all Scouts of Park City I will win close with the Scout benediction May MaT the Great reat Scoutmaster of all Sc Scouts be with us till we meet again KENDALL WEBB Scoutmaster Troop |
