| Show f that she is a bunny skier The wishes to welcome Miss Fidel to Park Reporter Jeanne Mar- Mar This year the Park City High School Pep Club has changed their name to Drill Team The group now consists of 17 girls instead of the 28 of last years year's group The girls were very carefully selected by three town out-of-town judges and only the best marchers march march- ers were selected There is one alternate in the group and each girl will take her turn in being the alternate for each march The alternate learns the march marchand marchand marchand and then if one of the other girls is unable to march the alter alter- nate will take her place The girls in the group are expected to uphold high moral standards keep a high grade point average maintain their marching ability and always remember to be an outstanding example from The advisor for the Drill Team this year is Mrs Shannon Reporter Susanne Evans The Drill Team began began be began be- be gan their season this year by marching at the halftime of the Lyman game They performed a march learned at the BY BYU U. U Invitational Track Meet last April At the Labor Day parade the were joined by the seven cheerleaders to march in that parade The Drill Team hasn't re received received received re- re their new uniforms yet that is the reason they are using last years year's uniform The new uniforms are being made by Mrs Fannie Williams who is doing a splendid job The Drill Team will perform at the South Rich game here on 0 October c t 0 be r Reporter 9 R e po r t e r Susanne Evans PIC The score was 8 0 as the Miners won their first football game of the season from Lyman Wyo Joe made the first first touchdown on a run from 20 yards out Kip Gordon caught a pass s thrown throw n by byr quarterback Tom Grose for the two-point two conversion This play excited Coach Severance not only because be because because be- be cause it worked so well but also he believes that this play will help the Miners add the extra points needed to win future games Fine individual efforts were made by members of th the team Justin and Bevan Nelson Nelson Nelson Nel Nel- son both made good Bill Mawhinney and Ken Roberts made some outstanding tackles The offense needs more work but both coaches think the boys will improve The defense is quite s strong t r o 0 n g. g The coaches expect the defense to make at least one touchdown per game from interceptions Coach Carlson said The whole team played very well considering it was their first game of the season The team needs everyone's support to help them win their games Everyone is urged to get out and give the Miners the support they need to take Park City to Reporter Jeanne Marcellin |
