E Jenkins left to right are Steve Pop Kent Doug and Pops Pop's granddaughter Sharon The M Murray u r ray family moved from Salt Lake City to Venezuela a year and a half ago when Kent Ken t assumed the duties of Manager of Manufacturing Manufacturing turing at the Standard Oil of California installation in the South American country They expect to remain in Venezuela at least two more years Sharon and the boys came to California and Utah two and a half months ago for vacation to visit with family and friends Kent joined his family a month ago The family left Utah Monday Monday Monday Mon Mon- day and flew to Miami Florida After spending a few days visiting visiting visit visit- ing friends they will take a four hour flight back to Maracaibo Steve and Doug attend the oil company's sponsored English school with other company employees employees' employees employees' employees employees' em em- children childre Many of the students have traveled t r a aV vel e 1 e ede d. d to all parts of the world and both Steve and Doug find the class classroom classroom room studies a challenge and andare andare andare are motivated to be better students students students stu stu- stu- stu dents than when they attended Utah schools Spanish is taught in the school and both boys are fluent in the n new e w language Sharon says they are her when she interpreters goes shopping Life in the South American country is pleasant the tropical weather is a radical change to Utah's four seasons The months rainy season of two is the cool cooP time in Maracaibo Their home and all buildings in inthe the company's complex are air conditioned When asked to make comments comments com corn 1 ments on th their ir new way of life the Murray family remarked that people are the same no matter where you go you soon learn about the country's customs customs customs cus cus- toms and they find it an exciting experience It gives them an appreciation of the Us U.s. way of life but they feel the opportunity to live in South America is a great one and are happy The North American holidays are incorporated with the South American ones The exception is the US U.S. Thanksgiving ng but the North Americans observe it with their friends Venezuela's Independence Day celebration celebrationis is July 5 and the Us U.s. families include the Us U.s.
