Show Seven Sewers Fair Winners In Park City a new H 4 sewIng sewing sewing sew sew- ing club was 0 organized r g ani zed this summer with J Joel Joe o e I 1 Burns and Rintha Burns as leaders Seven young girls started in June they were Faye Alvey Laurie Anderson Sharon Hamilton Gwen Jones Susan Marcellin Tangee San Sanchez c he z and ReNae Street Their number of members members mem mem- bers no doubt s suggested u g g est e d the name Up Seven Sewers but when Lori Lorl Nelson joined the group in July they changed the name to The Seven Seven- Seven Up Up Sewers Plus With only six weeks to finish their sewing projects the girls conscientiously met one or two days at a local church to make matching line A-line skirts and head The selection of materials cutting of patterns fitting and sewing of the clothing clothing clothing cloth cloth- ing was done during this time by the girls u un under n d e r the fine supervision of the their t h e i r leaders The fin finished ish e d articles were entered in this t-lis years year's Summit County Fair where the girls modeled their skirts and in the fashion show The Seven Seven- Up Sewers Plus came away with thirteen blue ribbons and three red rib ribbons bo n s for their fine accomplishments In July the group went to the H 4 summer camp at Smith Morehouse for three days and dubbed themselves Sew White and the Seven Dwarfs They not only enjoyed the three days with outdoor fun and games but they won a prize for the best song on the program and another an another another an- an other prize for the cleanest camp Though the group is new they certainly proved that Learning by doing doing- during the summer brought them a commendable 8 record of winning notable prizes in such a short time |
