Cheever of Provo that their I son Joseph E E. had been killed in action in an African engagement Joe as he was familiarly known to his hosts of ot friends vas was a staunch and beloved friend of ot the Ed Firmage family of ot Provo and had visited many times at atthe the S. S J L. L Haddon home In this this city andI and the news of ot his death came as alt a severe severo shock He lIe was a young man of sterling I qualities with a genial genia always happy disposition When In Provo in early August this year Joe came home on his bis first furlough furlough fur tur- lough and happy hours were spent with him at the Firmage home as he told of his army experiences and his officers officers' training at Fort Denning Bening Georgia he expressing his gratification upon his re return return return re- re turn to duty he would be commissioned as second lieutenant Dear Genial Joe that Joe that happy visit will never be effaced from our memories To his beloved and devoted parents our sincere sympathy is extended in to I their sad sod bereavement and great loss 1066 Such are the sorrows and tragedies of I war Lieutenant Joe was born In Provo on July 15 1916 1915 and was a graduate of Provo high school He lie le filled a year two-year L.
