Show I Mo More e than Enjoy Hospitality of Treasure Mountain Saturday The complimentary ride on the gondola and mine train ride Saturday Saturday Saturday Sat Sat- Sept 25 was enjoyed by ad adults and children The Invitation for this very wonderful trip was extended to all Park City residents and boni- boni fide employees of the United Park City City Mines Co by Treasure Mountain manager Woody Anderson Anderson An An- derson and Public Relations DIrector Director Director Di DI- rector rector Tim Heydon and nd a large group of people who availed I themselves of this this opportunity to see s-ee the wonderful facilities of Treasure Mountain recreation I area were well repaid The oldest person to take this trip was Mrs Mary McAlevy 87 years young accompanied by her hereon herson i 6 son eon on John McAlevy and there were a number of babies under one year of age then toddlers and school age children teenagers teenagers teen teen- agers young adults and those not so eo young and a goodly number of oldsters past 80 years No accidents occurred to toj j mar marthe mar marthe r the day and people were loud In I their praise of the courtesy and thoughtfulness of the company to arrange the very special tour for or Park City residents and employees employees employees em em- and families Praise Is due to the many kind kine and courteous employees of Treasure Treasure Trea Trea- sure Mountain who helped to tomake tomake tomake make the day such a pleasant occasion occasion oc oc- casion caslon to remember th the office personnel the bus drivers the train operators the cage attendants attendants attendants attend attend- ants ants the gondola operators the station attendants even the mayor may may- or of Park City Bill Sullivan I who assisted you off the cage atthe at atthe t I the top of Shaft 1770 I feet up In the air in Canyon The train ride was some three miles in length In steel railroad type enclosed cars and the water dripping from the roof of the tun tun- tun-I tun ned went along train the wi th the train ride The station was wet from the overhead dripping but the cages were enclosed and the ride up to the top was very comfortable dry and speedy In driving in the tunnel you p passed many lighted electric drifts taking off from the main Spiro Tunnel and connecting underground underground un un- workings of the West WestEnd WestEnd WestEnd End Station on the 1300 foot level of the Silver King shaft a II adrift adrift I drift which connected with the underground workings of the Park Utah mine Silver SUver Hill Station and underground workings of the Daly Judge Mine hundreds of miles of connecting tu tunnels nels from the Spiro Tunnel These drifts are not seen from the train but miners explained these underground workings of this famous tunnel who had worked work ed for many years in the tunnel and are now retired and enjoyed making the trip one more time The gondola ride was thrilling to we who have made It many times one regret was the loss of ot the beautiful autumn leaves Usually usually usually ally abundant in the mountains at this time of year recent storms stripped the trees of their gorgeous colored leaves The pines are wonderful and the air was sweet with the smell of them Snow on the high was visible from the Summit House where refreshments were enjoyed especially the wonderful coffee and hospitality of the personnel there The s same same me courteous treatment and service at the lodge was extended extended ex ex- tended to the many visitors there thereon on Park City Day All in fn all thanks and sincere commendation are offered to Treasure Mountain M o 0 u n t a al 1 n for the friendly g gesture gesture sture-it it was deeply appreciated by all aU |
