Show I Under Summer Skies I At Camp Cloud Rim When your year old or year 15 old Girl Scout comes back from her summer stay at nt Camp Cloud Rim seven miles mUes up the steep winding road rond from j i Park City City and and md WIth bright and smiling face tace plunges to work oh the dinner I dishes dont don't run for lor the thermometer I 1 ISho Sho has no fever With her time good-time vacation she absorbed a lot of training painlessly administered In necessary household i tasks Not only has It been the birds and j I Ithe the bees the fauna launa and flora and bird bird has been breakfasts calis calls lt it cooking In the open keeping ke sleeping tents lm-i lm Im immaculate maculate having fun lun together washing dishes Automatically she has been on time for meals meats and has lias l learned earned to red rec re I the wisdom of or elders when canoes and swimming and hiking have been part of ot the days day's excitement Incidentally sho she has had a up bang-up good time It has been a n democracy In which all of them have had a voice In affairs and a R choice of pursuits They I come back home a trifle more under under- understanding understanding standing perhaps of what makes a household tick For a n memorable mem week they have been taken from Irom hot city pavements and glar glar- glaring glarIng glaring ing sun from racket and noise and hurry hurr The mountains have made them welcome with crystal clearness of air alt and the peace of ot silent night Throughout seven summer weeks scores of Utah girls will have traveled those miles to one of or the loveliest Girl Scout camps In the country on the shore of blue Brimhall lake Great for for- forest forest forest est trees t ees pierce the sky sky untouched untouched d wild wildflowers wildflowers flowers make their Persian carpet pat pat- patterns patterns patterns terns along the rocky lake edge edge In In the shallows brown trout flash On a a. huge screened porch of ot the lodge girl campers c pers and staff starr members have well- well cooked appetizing meals Utah's fruits and fresh vegetables are used us d liberally liberally- and one quart of milk a day Is proVided for each ach camper In the thc interests of good health Inside arc are recreation re room library office and kitchen Outside at nt night the stars hang very close over the units of 24 campers each In wooden floored tents and with beds Qualified adults live In each unit as counselors All waterfront staff starr members are Red RedCross RedCross Cross life savers s savers vers I Around evening fires voices echo In Inthe inthe the night stillness There are drama drama- dramatics drama j dramatics tics songs games For three years Miss MIi Phoebe Becker 1 I Ihas has acted as camp director The staff start I this year Includes members from On- On Ontario i i tario tarlo Canada Olympia Wash Chicago I Salt SnIt Lake City and near by Utah and Wyoming towns Mrs Walter Koch Is Is' Is camp nurse The camp with its new facilities Is open to all Utah girls from 10 to 18 years of age I Camp Cloud Rim committee consists of the chairman Mrs Eliot Y Gates Mrs James R R.
