Show Legion Convention The eighteenth convention of ot the De De- Department Department of Utah has passed Into the tho limbo of ot passed events The American Legion Post No 3 and the city of ot Price received the assembled Legionnaires with open arms The convention passed a re re- re resolution resolution solution urging on congress the passage of ot the Universal ersal Service Act designed to take the profit motive out of war They urged an adequate national defence an army and navy nY n Y strong enough to dis dis- discourage discourage dis- dis discourage courage aggression Another resolution asked congress to see to It that no de dependent de- de dependent dependent pendent child of a deceased service ex i I man should be left without some kind of protection The I National Chaplain n a native Texan was the principle speaker at the memorial service He urged peace pence on earth and good will to men He pledged ed the operation co-operation of ot the Legion to all the three hundred peace societies spread all over the country with a national program pro pro- program gram Governor Blood complimented the Legion for the work being done In Utah There were three candidates for De De- Department Department Department Commander J. J J. J J Edwards of Logan Clyde B.
