I These are arc the aims amis upon which National Child Health Day is based As May Day again approaches let us re review re- re review review I view our past years year's work in child health and make plans for the future What did Summit county do to safe sate safeguard I guard Its children last year 1 1 The Parent Teachers Association of Park City sponsored a preschool clinic cUnic last June At this time parents were I invited to have their preschool children I examined and Immunized against small smallpox smallpox pox and diphtheria in order that the children might be physically ready to enter school In the fall 2 Summit county in n operation co-operation I with the Park City School District and with the State Board Doard of ot Health employed em em- employed employed I a full tull time public health nurse 3 3 Summit County Board of ot Public Welfare in operation co-operation with the Chil Chil- Childrens Children's Childrens Children's I drens dren's Bureau has employed a child welfare worker for tor the past three months in order to provide case work service for I children I 4 4 The clubs fraternal and church organizations of ot the county have child I welfare committees These organizations has sponsored such activities as the May Day Festival by the L. L D. D S. S church II the Boy Scout Troop by the Kiwanis the Drum and Bugle Corps by the American Legion and the prize for tor the I best up clean-up poster by the Athenaeum club 5 Infant conferences have been or organized or- or organized organized in Coalville and Kamas for the North and South Summit Districts To these conferences mothers may mar bring all aU I their children under six years of ot age for I health supervision These conferences were arranged by the relief society with assistance from the State Board Doard of ot Health 1 6 6 Home Hygiene classes have been organized by the Red Cross In Echo Coalville Coal and Park City i 7 The three school districts of ot the county have ha provided physical examina examina- examinations examinations for the students The Marsac school will hold an exhibit May In which a display of the years year's school I health work will be included 1 8 Summit county has participated I In the Crippled Childrens Children's Service of the I state A survey sur of ot all such children has been made and opportunity provided for clinical examination Let us plan In the coming year to continuo continue and extend these services to our Dur children so that we may Insure them jf ot a happy and protected childhood |
