Show A Splendid Tribute The following tribute was paid to the late James A. A A Daggy the aged father of Mrs Cora of this city by bythe bythe bythe the Bayard Chronicle of recent date James Henry Daggy was born In Peru Ind December 18 1848 In 1861 1661 he enlisted in the Indiana Infantry Af After er spending eight months In the th Nashville Tenn hospital he again en en- enlisted enlisted enlisted listed in the Indiana Infantry In which ho remained until the end of the Civil war In a short time he went to Jefferson county Iowa where he was united In marriage with Mary Matilda Keith who him in death four years ago To this union five children were born four girls and andone andone andone one boy He lie came to the North Platte valley In 1894 where he since has made his home Mr Daggy Doggy was n charter member of the First National Bank of Bayard where he was an active member m m r of the Board as long as his health would permit Being a 0 man of sterling worth I and high Ideals his Impartial Judgment was sought by his business associates Irrigation development occupied much of his time and attention and he played a prominent part in the early project work worl in Morrill county It was largely through his earnest efforts that irrigation was brought to a successful head in the valley For 22 years he has been retired and I has lived in Bayard continuously dur dur- during during I dur-I ing that time I IFor For several y years ars he had been in fail fail- failIng fall I failing Ing health which confined him to his home For three years ears he had been under the loving care of his daughter Mrs Irs Ayer A er He succumbed to his ailments at his home His daughters daught rs Mrs Stearns Steams and Mrs Ayer were at his bedside when he passed away ay I An impressive military service was held at the M M. E. E church where Mr Daggy was a member The service was under the direction of John Johnson American Legion commander with Rev T T. C. C Osborne of Alliance officiating Tuesday August Tenting Tonight The Old Rugged Rugg d Cross and and The End of a Perfect Diy Day were so beautifully sung by Rev and Mrs Nye N e eThe The funeral cortage wended Its way to the cemetery under military escort I where Chaplain Roth conducted the I grave service e. e The firing Iring salute over the flag fla draped casket and the sounding of I echo taps mad made a most beautiful and fitting tribute to the passing passin of this I grand old man I His survivors arc his daughters Mrs Cora of Park City Utah Mrs Martha Stearns of Morrill Neb Neb- Nebraska Nebraska Nebraska Mrs E.
