J Bardsley was called by death at the advanced age of 85 years ears We Wo read that Mrs Bardsley was born in Oldham England January 7 1850 a a. daughter of Edward and Margaret Gledhill I hlll hill Duffin came to Utah with her par par- parents parents parents in October Octo r 1854 first settling In Centerville but later moving to Spring- Spring Springville SprIngville ville vUle where she attended her first school in a willow tent Later the family was sent to Moroni In 1861 by President Brigham Young of the L. L D. D S. S church and because of In In- Indian Indian Indian dian trouble moved from Moroni to Monroe then to Richfield and finally to Gunnison where the family made their permanent home in 1867 She was married to ro William WilHam- Bardsley In 1868 while he was stationed near Gunnison during the Black Hawk Indian war Always Alwa s 's an active civic worker Mrs Bardsley was Instrumental In the found- found foundIng founding foundIng Ing of the first rending reading room In Gunni- Gunni Gunnison Gunnison son In 1884 1834 Mrs Bardsley was the last survivor to attend the first L. L D. D S. S Relief society I I meeting in Gunnison She had been active in all branches I I of church work particularly the Relief society and Primary work until a n. few years ago when ill health forced her herto herto to retire I i Surviving Mrs Bardsley are three sons Dr William Bardsley Park City I 1 I Edwin Bardsley Milford Mn ord and Verse Bardsley Santaquin six daughters Miss I I Violet Bardsley Salt Lake City Miss Linda Bardsley Gunnison Mrs Chris Centerfield Mrs Roy Lund I i Clarion Mrs Frank Tate Midway and Mrs D. D L. L Brundige Salt Lake City Dr and Mrs Bardsley left Tuesday I I morning for Gunnison to be present at atthe I I Ithe the tho funeral services which were held Wednesday afternoon at nt the L. L D.
