Show HM J school notes note sa s1 J F SOCIOLOGY by helen louise dailey bailey the tha semester ended last friday but for the sociology students it goes on lor for a week or more during this first semester classes have been making social surveys of park city and many are the interesting things uncovered the seventh period class being decidedly sm smaller all than the first has been greater headway with reports some of the most interesting reports were those of virgil mills and fred mcbride on the foreign element barney mcgarry and leonard harrington on vice and crime and louise burbidge and doris parrish on statistics after the completion of these surveys students who have been engaged in this work embark on a half year of economics it if they find it as aa interesting as sociology they will certainly regret the completion of the course ap GIRLS ATHLETICS by bernice the game now being use for contest work Is paddle tennis because paddle makes it IC impossible tor for more than two players to be on one team it has become necessary tor for each team to play within its own group in order to cli eliminate minate its players these eliminations were made before the christmas holidays when every day both mornings and at noon the teem teams were seen playing their elimination games immediately after the holidays contest games were started the winners of t the he different sets played against each other until the contestants were allm eliminated to two teams for the As and two tor for the Bs the amazons and step pers represented both classes at the final game the amazons won in both classes after a very exciting battle tie it was then decided to let the winners of A class play against the winners 0 of B class the winners were from the A class the players on these two winning teams are A class mary archer and annabelle hewitt 13 class marjorie Marj orle greenwood and margaret doran these girls deserve our wholehearted whole hearted congratulations tu on their clever playing an and good sportsmanship ab 1 C LASS CLASS OF 33 by helen louise bailey A few members of the senior class a are re sporting pins and many of the others have ordered theirs some have ordered class rings also although as yet none of these have arrived at present the seniors are much engrossed in writing of two essays the subi i aub ejects of which are how can american youth cooperate with the american legion and to remove the profit motive from war and gorgas control of transmissible and other preventable diseases mrs marie bardsley representing the auxiliary of the american legion has given much information and inspiration to english classes engaged in writing essays in the contest sponsored by CLASS OF 36 dy by jack IkIc Kissick president someday when old your big heart may pine for some little verse or nursery rhyme let the rhyme begin as I 1 I 1 sa ra dynow let it always begin as I 1 tell you how the class of 36 let your children repeat after me for in their prime juniors be this Is the class where life becomes true this Is the class where all things are new learn to do wrong learn to do right the juniors will teach the others they might I 1 it if you do wrong no one you can blame tale take advise from the juniors and always be sane after that loss of old thirty six the dear old high school will be in a fix I 1 hope myself the school wont break down and will still carry on as though we were around |
