Show park city ward holds reunion last night at the L D S church the park city ward held a ward reunion and homecoming home coming celebration the ward c hurch church was packed to capacity with former and present bishops officers and members of the park city ward officers mrs T L allen alien wile wife of T L allen alien who was president ot of the park city branch about 1894 represented her husband at the homecoming home coming she spoke briefly during the program ot of conditions in park fark city at that time she expressed her pleasure and surprise at the growth cf the ward since its early start all of the bishops ot of park city ward were represented at the reunion re union fred who was first bishop in 1901 spoke ot of the condition at the time he took office he expressed appreciation tor for the good fellowship that exists in park city he spoke of how friendly all classes and sects were to him arid and his cause he also spoke briefly of 0 the fire that destroyed the then newly erected chapel mrs also was present at the celebration W JG 4 lewis was represented by hla his daughter mrs minnie gleason who told of the friendly relation between father galligan and other local ministers and her father at that time bishop too expressed his appreciation tor for the people of park city he made the statement that no one had bad bettered himself by leaving park city because he has either become wrinkled the hair had grown gray or had fallen out or all three he said every one who left park city always came back some time or another bishop took his office in 1913 W J lewis son ot of the former bishop was unable to be present zack who became bishop in 1925 presented to bishop egan a book of remembrance mem brance which when finished will contain a complete history of the park city and parleys park wards before the program a banquet with these former bishops and their counselors was served with the present bishopric as hosts after the program a dance was held in the amusement hall the feature of the part of the program was some folk and square dances performed by old timers dressed in old time costumes refreshments I 1 ments 6 were also served approximately people attended of whom were from out of town the former residents of park city were dr ezra and daughter edna mr and mrs james malin mr and mrs murray davis mr and mrs john baker mr and mrs tom rosser mr air and mrs C brooks dr and mrs L C snow and family and newell larson of salt lake city mr and mrs ezra robinson of Wan wanshin wanship ship mr and mrs E jones of echo and mr and mrs alex farrell of boyts ville |
