Show prominent sun summit mit men called to rest NATHANIAL at his home in marion this county on friday october ath mr nathaniel Mathan lal a prominent stockman and farmer and one ot of the best beat known citizens of summit county for or the past pas futy fifty years died after a two months illness follo following ing a paralytic stroke deceased was born at sugarhouse salt like lake on en september 11 1681 1861 the family moved to rockport rockfort Rock port this county when deceased was a small child on december 5 1887 he was married to emma ol of rockport rockfort Rock port and later moved to marlon marion where lor for forty years past they mida made their home deceased Is survived by his widow and a large family funeral services were held tuesday at the marlon marion L D S chapel and was largely attended by friends and admirers from all parts of ct the county bishop joseph andrus officiated at the services interment was in the wanship manship cemetery ALBERY GIBBONS sunday at his home in this county albery gibbons a prominent stockman and another of the best known and admired citizens ot of summit county died suddenly following an heart attack in politics mr gibbons was a staunch republican and always an active worker for the tha party and was known to every republics republican ll 11 in the county tor for it Is doubtful if ever a 11 republican convention was waa held in the county that albery gibbons was not present with his genial smile and hearty handclasp A hale fellow well met popular always dependable honest faithful and true was albery gibbons and he will be sincerely missed and mourned by innumerable friends in all parts of the county and many throughout the state mr gibbons served as county commissioner from 1920 to 1924 deceased was born in Sugar sugarhouse bouse salt lake december 20 1861 a son of thomas and sarah lack gibbons while he be was a boy his family moved to rockfort rockport Rock port summit county and he lived there until he was 21 years old when he tco ccok s up a homestead at oakley utah he lived at oakley until 1925 when he moved to manship wanship he Is survived by his widow fannie moore gibbons to whom he was married on september 25 1886 at rockport rockfort Rock port the following sons and daughters also survive albert lt gibbons of winship Wan ship mrs malissa lewis glen gibbons marton marion utah harvey gibbons salt lake 11 grandchildren one great grandchild and the following brothers and sisters george joseph gibbons marion charles worthy and oliver gibbons and mrs percinda rockport rockfort Rock port mrs mable workman park city willard and emma gibbons salt lake alma gibbons wan ship funeral services were held at the wan ship L D S chapel wednesday bishop E F P robertson offic officiating lating and was attended by friends and admirers from every section oz ot the county mr and mrs J 7 johnson and mr and mrs andy peterson being among those present from park city in the passing on of these two well knows known summit county citizens the following unusual incidents are recorded both were born in sugarhouse Sugar bouse in the same year 1861 mr gibbons being three months and nine days the oldest both parents of these men moved to rock port at the same time both boys grew up together when mans estate was reached both young men married rock port young women while both were making their home in that town both vea men engaged in the same line of business and were close friends and near neighbors continuously throughout their lives ilves and when the summons came to join the un numerable caravan which moves to that mysterious realm where each shall take his chamber in the silent halls of death just two days elapsed between the calls the first coming for mr friday morning the other for mr gibbons sunday morning I 1 but a few minutes before the final I 1 call for mr gibbons came he be was sadly preparing for art an act of friendly service for his departed lifelong life long friend companion and neighbor sunday morning mr gibbons with friends were at the wanshin wanship cemetery to arrange tor for digging the grave tor for mr air the ground proved to be rather bard tor for digging when mr gibbons volunteered to go to his home to get a crowbar to aid in breaking the ground and he was close to his home tor for this purpose when stricken with an heart attack and dropped I 1 down dead and thus the careers of the two good men came to a close their births being within a few weeks of each other their lifes occupation being identical their companionship being close and continuous through life their deaths being within two days of each other and their burial only one day apart |
