yellowstone park by C E street published in this column last week a stupid error was made by the compositor which read standing at inspiration point grand canyon of the yellowstone low stone one looks down over one hundred feet to the river below this should have read OVER ONE THOUSAND FEET to the green ribbon of the river etc fi ai fi WE HAVE been asked the past week to give a definition of a FINDLEY editor of the united states air services tells us in the last issue of literary digest that it la 19 less than thirty years since the first man new flew by airplane at kitty hawk north carolina december 17 1903 until the latter part ot of 1906 there were two men in the horld who ho could fly and only two wilbur and orvllle orville wright who during the period from 1903 and 1906 made nights flights totaling almost exactly miles one night flight made on october ath 1905 being 24 i miles in length lasting 38 minutes 3 second today there are more miles flown more passengers carried singer deserted us tor for the big copper city you lucky montana people or perhaps haps july in san francisco had bad all the chills ot of a january in park city tut tut I 1 dont quite agree with that crack about the chills of 0 a january day la in park city A stranger glancing at that excuse might be led to think that park city Is a cold and dismal place on a day in january which I 1 think Is all wrong I 1 think park city has ideal winters as lar far as weather la is concerned therefore the weather have kept them away so it must have been on account I 1 of jule or some other excuse to ro I 1 make it easy ea for who were absent to be reinstated a ted all they have to do Is bring an excuse signed by dad but it if they persist in being absent from future picnics they will be forced to take a
