Show boy scout loses way in mountains russell mcclellan son ot of mr and mrs J W mcclellan one of the boy scouts who made camp at bonanza flat last wednesday caused considerable anxiety saturday and sunday last saturday morning scout master jim gwilliam in charge of the camp decided that the scouts take a hike over the mountains this order was received with enthusiasm and the boys started out russell with the rest of them the hike was up a steep trail to the top ot of clayton peak when the top was reached all the scouts were asked to register it was then that russell was first missed the supposition was the boy got tired and slipped back to camp unnoticed the hikers returned to camp about 3 that afternoon and when it was learned that russell had not been seen fear was expressed that the boy had became lost in one ot of the many ravines ot of that section scout master gwilliams at once formed units of the scouts to scour the hills lu in all directions darkness came and no trace ot of the boy was found all night the search was continued scouts walked as tar far as brighton others back to park city where telephoning was done to various places where it was thought the boy might have gone but with no success the search was continued all day sunday with scouts stationed at the daly judge shaft house to receive telephone messages should any come sunday evening when no trace of the missing bey was found scout master gwilliams came to park city and took back with him four horses the intention being to start out at daylight monday morning to search more distant ravines and canyons about midnight sunday however word came from american fork that the boy had bad just reached that city and was being cared for Hs he was later taken to provo prove where his parents met him and brought him home it was learned sunday that the first trace of the boy was when a cheep sheepherder herder |
