Is no political party in america today which embodies any ol of the 6 essentials ot of jeffersons doctrine in its party pr principles C IP les he was absolutely opposed to gov with private busl 1 el cin mental interference ness or attempt by government to regulate the lives and conduct of 0 individuals ile he believed that mankind man kind got along was tree free to work best when everybody out ills his own destiny and to reap map the rewards of of his own intelligence and in clust dustey ly it see seems ms to me that fill all political parties today would do well to swing back to jeffersons went the other night to the annual national exhibition ot of antiques I 1 saw r some beautiful things but also a lot of au junk that gave me a pain in the necks neck apparently anything that dates from before 1900 Is an antique nowadays abaz aig ig prices were asked by dealers for cob awers benches horse borse kits wooden birns tin dippers and other everyday every day things that are still to be found in more cr less prolusion around almost every farm and village one dealer boasted to me that he could prove that some ve very ry cheap glassware such suca as I 1 always saw on the table at home was made as tar far back as 1882 and he wanted several dollars apiece for items that used to cost a quarter merely because they were antiques my lay wife and I 1 have bought a lot of antl antiques ques our old farmhouse Is nearl nearly B a huldred and fifty yea years rs old and it pleases us to it with old pieces when we can buy them cheaper than we could but equally good new st stuff was sold he be went down to charleston Chai leston mississippi and bought a country newspaper the mississippi sun Is one of the best local weeklies that I 1 see and sapper Sk merriweather Is one of the most contented c d men I 1 know I 1 dont know how old lie he is but forty seven years ago he was a aa sailor ilor in the united states navy and served on oil the old freighter constitution he went to see the constitution when a she he was tied up at gulfport Gult Gulf port recently and wrote a mighty interesting article about it for his paper I 1 know a lot of city newspaper men who have no lobs jobs ard no income tor for their old age I 1 dont know of a single country newspaper editor who la Is actually in want COLOR one ot of the next big revolutionary inventions vent ions will be a hand camera which will take snapshots ot of moving objects in the actual colors of nature and that Is going to be followed by new printing in which will enable newspapers to print pictures in their natural colors as leadley dily as they do now nov in black and white I 1 dont know how soon boon it will come but I 1 know several people who are working on it and who think they are pretty close to
