occurred at t the he home ol of the Kot kotliar lias on the king road last sunday afternoon from the testimony ell elicited cIted at the coroners inquest it appears that kotila koella had returned from stockton utah the wednesday before where he be had been working tor for som bome time he began drinking and was quarrelsome rel some and made life miserable tor for his wife and family saturday i night mrs kotila and daughters went to a dance at the swede hall and this seemed to displease the husband more than ever sunday in a drunken frency he mistreated and abused his wife all day long and being tormented beyond endurance mrs kotila went to a drawer and took out a small mall 25 automatic pearl handled pistol which one of the children had bad obtained as a punch board prize and informed the husband if he did not cease his abuse and vicious talk she would shoot him watching his opportunity the drunken husband grasped the wrist of his wife and in his efforts to wrench the ironi from her hand the weapon was discharged the bullet passing through both walls of the stomach and through the left kidney there seems no question it if he be had bad secured the gun he would have shot his wife the shooting took place about 3 p m A police officer who happened to be near by heard the shot and nd rushed into the house bouse and found the wounded man op on the floor and the wife in a hysterical condition sheriff adamson his deputy sam billings with marshal L P mcgarry were soon on the scene the wounded man mall was taken to the miners hospital and the woman placed under arrest dr barta operated on kotila but because ot of the nature ot of the wound no hope was held out for his recovery and it at tuesday night he died on his death bed kettle told the officers and attendants that he was solely to blame tor the shooting hoot ing exon exonerating orating his wife from all blame wednesday night at 7 a coroners inquest was held over the remains belore before coroner john C made a complete stenographic record of the testimony t es the inquest lasted from 7 p in wednesday until 1210 a m thursday when the following verdict was returned before J C green coroner an inquest injuries suffered by the bullet wound the doctors were guided by medical and surgical motives and not for legal motives they did not know if the bullet was fired by patient or some other party autopsy
