children the thought that war saps the financial strength of a nation and the life blood of the people most alost of our present school population have become of school age since we entered the war and it Is desirable they should be enlightened ight ened on the subject the principal theme was how schools promote patriotism and world understanding the principle event of the afternoon find and night was the big turkey dinners given by the legion auxiliary at the athenaeum hall after the repast was finished scotty baxter sang some of his inimitable songs and also the songs of war in which all the he legionnaires and ex cx servace men joined mrs dan brady was the accod banist aalst mayor gibbons gave a splendid address of welcome he also discussed the question of legion membership stating that every ex service man of park city and vicinity should consider the question of affiliation not only to help the legion but also to help himself lie he stressed the question of organization and cooperation it if the sick and disabled buddies are to receive adequate care he called the attention of the men to the tact fact that hat the state convention is to be held in park city in august and asked the operation cooperation co of all the ex service me men and the people of the community in general to make the convention a success he stated we had a big lob job on our hands and needed a large post to put it over harry ryan commander of post no 14 followed he calling attention to the legions ideals of its desire to take up community welfare work and to coop co op
