Show A P ridge suddenly taken by death I 1 I 1 1 I 1 I 1 I 1 I 1 I 1 albert pleasant ridge I 1 we shall be in the midst ot of a some 0 me great work when the tools shall hall s drop from our relaxing 1 angers ln g er s a and n d we s shall h a 1 I 1 work no m more 0 r we s shall h all be p planning 1 a n ning some mighty project house bouse business society book when in one shattering moment all our thoughts shall perish life shall seem strong in us when we shall find it Is done how well does the above fit in the I 1 sudden passing of our former always a active townsman and true friend A P ridge it was only last saturday when tie he was in our office apparently hale bale and hearty and in his always jovial manner we chatted and laughed enjoying to the fullest the brief visit we parted with words of good cheer and smiling predictions tor for a bright future tor for our home city and its one great industry mining and then on sunday he with his estimable wife and family motored from his salt lake home to be present with friends and brothers at the annual picnic at the ter hot pot resort of the local masonic fraternity of which he was a devoted member here he was in his happiest mood reveling in the enjoyment of happy greetings and hearty hand clasps of long time friends and acquaintances to close friends he be told of formulated plans tor for the advance and growth of his bis prosperous business as aa mining broker beaming with enthusiastic ambition to expand to forge ahead in lifes battle upon his return to his home that night he completed some unfinished work with his usual vim and near midnight retired with a smiling good night to members of his family and to his final sleep it was the next morning after breakfast had been made ready that mrs ridge called her husband and receiving no response went to the bedside to awaken him and terrified by her husbands apparent unconsciousness and unusual color aroused the family A physician was immediately summoned and restoratives restora tives tried but to no avail death has claimed the devoted husband and father heart disease was given as the cause such Is the uncertainty of life news of the sudden passing of this well known citizen brought painful surprise and sincere sorrow to his bis host of park city friends to those who had enjoyed his company and shared in his pleasures of but a few hours previous it seemed impossible that such a thing could be true and when fully realizing the fact sincere sympathy was universally expressed for the bereaved widow and family and deep regret tor for the passing of so active a citizen and loyal friend albert pleasant ridge was born in illinois fifty six years ago he had bad resided in utah for twenty years and tor for nineteen years was local agent of 0 the union pacific railroad company a tion he filled with exceptional ability winning constant praise from patrons because of his always prompt service and obliging manner during his long rest denci in this city he proved himself a faithful falth ful servant to his employers a good citizen and a loyal dependable friend he wes honored with election as mayor of this city and tor for two years rendered valued service as head of this municipality he was always active in business an and d fraternal affairs being a member of t the he local masonic lodge the benevolent and protective order of elks the odd fellows and other fraternal organizations A year and a half ago mr ridge and family located in salt lake city where deceased became engaged in the brokerage business 0 making a success of same from the start because of his energy his square are dealing dependability and pleasing personality at the time of his death he was an active member of the salt lake chamber of commerce surviving him are his widow mrs minnie ridge three daughters mrs fred hanson of malad idaho misses juanita and maude ridge salt lake and one son ex mayor glenn S ridge of this city funeral services were held at the masonic temple salt lake wednesday afternoon under the auspices of uintah lodge no 7 of this city rev kev sloman of salt lake was officiating clergyman clergy mari he giving a brief consoling sermon appropriate solos were rendered by mrs sloman of salt bait lake L ke the lodge room was filled to cap capacity J with stilt salt lake and park city fri friends ends of the family interment was at mount olivet salt lake the pall bear ers era were albert john W stoner ben H beveridge Beverl dge george S krueger R W macdonald of pork fork city and J H roberts of Co coalville alville |
