school year was held the junior prom the hall was decorated to represent a dutch garden dances were enjoyed under tinder a blue sky shy realistic looking tulips were growing along the fences and beautiful flowers covered the garden garden arches in the cente the hall stood a windmill beautifully lighted when viewing the hall the next monday several students commented that it must have been real looking tor for from RII nil appeal ances someone had gone so far as to suppose the fences would support weight the students of the two upper classes are now looking forward to the J junior senior banquet which Is to be held tuesday may the juniors are on only ly hoping that the banquet will prove as successful as the prom i R 0 T C inspection HAS SMALL SHAH AUDIENCE last monday the th last official inspection of 0 the R 0 T C unit of 0 the park city high school took place lieutenant colonel wp ddlly who was the inspecting officer i was very pledged with the marked improvement of the unit from last year this inspection was very important because the results placed park city with the other high schools throughout the west in military standing considering everything park city cadets cabets did splendidly the marking of this inspection was based on a great number ot of points such as personal appearance platoon drill leadership and squad drill the unit ranked in class A in all divisions except cep t three the these it e were first facilities tor for rifle practice on which we were marked zero then there was group practice on which we were also marked zero as the third point of this phase ot of the marking was our entry ot of a rifle team in interscholastic matches as we have no rifle team we were maikel zero here also it if we had not been marked down on these three points park cites R 0 T C unit would have held an honor rank in the schools standing it Is believed lieveld it would have been among the first five anve the failure of the unit to quality qualify in these three items cannot be blamed to lieutenant a nt adamson or to the cadets cabets themselves ves the rifle range wits was not finished so there could be no group practice nor any rifle team selected this I 1 was vas due to the instill inability ity of the school board to have this completed at a more adequate time there seemed to be a marked dis disinterestedness 1 anter est edness in this inspection on both the part of the towns citizens and the members ot of the board of education there were only a few citizen spectators and only one member of the school board present to view this inspection park city wants her children to be ing and really merit the support that is given them but does docs it not seem asking a good deal of throe these same boys to perform at their best beat if townspeople are not interested enough in them and their activities to even be present to view an inspection this seems seema queerer still when we reflect that there Is only one such even teach year wo we are ara pleased because the unit performed as well as it old and are arc sorry because the school board could no not t make a it possible tor for park city to rank because of the lack of a rifle range still 1 I perhaps r the school board did as well as ae it could in regards to this matter granting this Is so eo should not the members I 1 display an active interest in the units I 1 showing this interest was extremely conspicuous by its absence as we may say bay at this time we must be fair however and be led to believe that their attitude was occasioned by urgent bustness business elsewhere but does it seem fair that we as cabets cadets be expected to do our utmost in making such events a success when we have no marked support ca bets as such get practically nothing out of the extra strain that Is put on them a at t such times they can get a passing grade in military even if they dont do their best what incentive do they have then to perform efficiently if it Is not tho the support they get from those who should furnish the support then townspeople and board members embers should we not respond a little amore more to such an event especially when it iv is formally announced as this last inspection was and put p u t our support behind park city cites s celden cadets s JOHNSON 31 0 0 valedictory IN N CHOSEN dorothy don has been chosen to be the
