| Show summit countes Coun tys road work for 1930 the following outline of road work mapped out by the county comal commissioners ion Is given by a correspondent summit countes coun tys 1930 road program involving the expenditure of approximately has started with the resurfacing murfa c ing of tiie the highway between henefer and echo and the beginning of the construction work on the new federal aid project betge between n henefer and the town of morgan this work will involve the widening of four narrow rock roads between devils slide and morgan near the union pacific tracks and the widening and straight bening of the remainder of the road especially pecia ally lIy along the banks of the weber river the county Is operating cooperating co this year tear with the federal aid people and with the forest service the latter agency cooper co oper sting in the opening up of the roads in the wasatch national forest in the upper weber river valley and in the vintah national forest near the wyoming line these roads are being opened to allow easier access tor for sheep grazing and to make the marketing of the timber easier the work this year will include the oiling ailing of the highway from the summit of parleys canyon to the wasatch county line through the lower end of park city and the oiling ailing of about a mile in the towns of Wan wanshin wanship ship echo rene henefer oakley karnes kamas and geoa peoa in addition the oiling ailing of seven additional miles of road from baskin to emory in echo canyon will be undertaken county road maintenance work will be taken care of this year by two patrolmen george huffman of having charge of the district from the morgan county line to rockport rockfort Rock port and E J pad field of kamas having the territory from rockport rockfort Rock port south both of these men will look after the necessary maintenance near park city the oiling citing of the road through silver buver creek canyon to Kim kimballs balls junction to connect with the highway from the summit to park city was originally planned tor for this year but has been postponed until the he following season work in silver creek this year will consist of heavy maintenance work in the nature of gravel topping so that the road will be ready for the oiling ailing treatment next year this maintenance work will also include the removal of the bridge over chalk creek in the north limits of coal ville and the substitution ot of a standard width highway bridge while the present bridge will be used on one of Co alville cites chalk creek crossings the bridge over the weber river at manship wanship will also be removed and a standard width bridge placed there the countes coun tys share of this work will cost in fix the neighborhood of the balance of the funds being made available by the different agencies co ing in the work the road program for summit county calls lor for oiled highways traversing the county from one end to another by the end of 1931 or 1932 at the latest |
