music around it and hope raid mid our sorrow borrow bright hope la Is still near mrs myra steele vincent wife of 0 homer vincent pawed passed on to her reward st at the L D S hospital salt lake last saturday morning at 1240 while it was fully realized by her many park city friends that her condition was extremely critical the news of her death came as a severe shock saturday morning causing sincere regret and sorrow to the community in general with heartfelt sympathy going out to her bereaved husband her little adopted daughter mary leah to whom deceased was so touchingly devoted and to her sisters r and brothers left to mourn her untimely death mrs vincent was taken seriously III at her home in this city on the ath with acute appendicitis she was taken to the L D S hospital at once and operated upon immediately the operation revealed an aggravated condition fears 1 for her recovery from the first being expressed by the operating physicians she rallied raffled however from the operation and her remarkable courage cheerfulness and determination to get well gave hope to her loved ones with the physicians and nurses doing everything in their power the suffering one bravely struggled to retain life and seemed to be winning the fight until last friday afternoon when a quick change for the worse came the end coming as above stated mrs vincent was the daughter of mr and mrs henry steele and was bom in american fork utah on december 16 1887 she reached young womanhood in that city in 1910 she was united in marriage to homer vincent and with her husband came to park city the same year where she made her homo home until her fatal illness during her residence in our midst mrs vincent was always active in church social and fraternal affairs and because of that activity combined always with a pleasing and genial personality she won the friendship and love and admiration of all with whom she came in contact she will be sadly missed from this community where she for the many years past made her home at the time of her death deceased was secretary of auxiliary of the american legion supreme representative of the pythian sisters she having previously served as grand chief of honor of the latter organization with honor to the jurisdiction and great credit to herself she was also always prominent and active in the womans comans benefit association lady besides her husband and little daughter deceased Is survived by the following others brothers la and sisters mrs elizabeth of eureka utah mrs amanda cullis of salt lake city mrs ross hocking of bingham canyon mrs mary pett harry and blaine I 1 steels steele ot of american fork I 1 the body was taken from the hospital to american fork early saturday morn ing where solemn and impressive funeral services were held at the alpine stake tabernacle tuesday afternoon the large edifice was filled to capacity with friends and admirers of deceased among whom were many park city people who went down that day to pay their last respects to a good woman a devoted wife and dependable pen dable friend bishop earle earie greenwood ot of the fourth ward american pork fork was in charge ot of the services the opening hymn was a quartette he knows my heavenly father knows beautifully rendered by mrs larue lahue B R morton mrs ora H chipman J H davis and bert timpson the invocation was given by amon mercer an uncle of the deceased following the prayer J H davis sang a solo 0 0 my father th the e first speaker was alma smith an uncle of mrs alm vincent he offered many words of consolation to the bereaved ones and told of the fine character of the de ceased after his remarks a violin solo A perfect day was played by miss ann clavson the next speaker was bishop of part park city he told of the aple splendid edid I 1 character of mrs vincent and the good done by her in social civic and church affairs in park city during her residence there of seventeen years following bishop I 1 a vocal solo one fleeting hour was sung by mrs S J mills accompanied compa compan nied led on the piano by mrs blanch fletcher and eleanor perry on the violin all of park city leo T shelly made a 96 few consoling remarks after which mrs marie mane of provo rendered a soto solo patriarch warren B smith grandfather of the deceased conveyed some very beautiful thoughts the concluding musical number 1 was a vocal duet tact fact to face suni sung by marley steele and mrs mis ora H chipman the benediction was pronounced I 1 by fred 11 egan of park city I 1 interment tennent In was made in the american fork city cemetery where the grave was dedicated by bishop the profusion of beautiful floral flora I 1 offerings fe rings testified as silent tributes to the sterling character and the esteem
