instructive and entertaining from a financial point ot of view ws twi have not been as successful but from the standpoint of what our real work Is menat benat to be civic and literary tile the work has been a success the reason tor for this i h we have not la bored under so heavy a debt as in the past three years since we bought the club rooms and could concentrate our attention more on our work our civic work is as follows we have lent our building to five public I 1 meetings without charge our chairs idere were lent to the boys baud band tor for a benefit they were having the chairs were lent to the kiwanis club for their banquet may ath then our war saving stamp was used tor for a very worthy cause with it we bought a flag to be ba un um in front olt of the building on patriotic occasions during educational week maffy many ot of our members reported having visited ithe the schools which was in accord with the general federation program and in good book week the club bought and presented 6 to the public library a book entla yd customs of mankind this book is very valuable as a research book to the near east relief fund we contributed five dot dollars lars to the convention we gave two dollars and fifty cents our members have responded very willingly to work tor lor a playground fund now being raised almost one hundred per cent they have done what they could to arouse interest in it and have worked on the drive conducted tor for it we polled a one hund hundred red per beut vo vote t 8 it at the annual election to stimulate interest to in better homes week we have offered prizes of two dollars each tor for the best dewi in ing done and two dollars each for or the two best loaves ot of broad bread made in the home econe economics department for better homes week demonstration the home of mr and mrs 11 herman or man hethke has been secured this is 13 an entirely new venture in I 1 park city success to our pioneer we work ik all the merchants have been interviewed arid and ha have ve promised to c operate cooperate co prate with appropriate window displays we are aiming to conduct a city fair in Septem september elere the children can call bring their flowers blowers and truck raised in their gardens prizes will bergiven be given tor for the best samples our president mrs Dard bardsley has done the cleaning cie aning and been inspru men we also did some thorough investigation ot of this bill i the tax bill was referred to our late representative mr henry welsh but with poor success as was the letter endorsing the child labor amendment during chiji welfare week the athenaeum operated cooperated co to encourage the schools to do something a abong 1 long this line we found that they are in keeping giving all aa operetta if tor or the benent benefit of the playground fund our president derit mrs bardsley Bards lcy nas taken a very great interest in her local work she has also been recognized by the state being elected auditor of 0 the state federation in last S t fall also aiso being elected as a member of 0 the central district board of 0 which district park city s athenaeum is a member organization day february was fittingly observed by our annual luncheon toasts loasta and good fellowship prevailed mrs john jackson was elected our new president for or the coming year another feature which has lent more good feeling year is that we have served tea otten often this helps to bring a little sociability to our important meetings ng s binti and we all make more ot of an r to r to come out on these days because
