attention ot of local mining men has been centered upon the development work 1 at 1 t the park utah mine in the park C city ity di distinct this interest which has been steadily developing in intensity as a result of the encouraging news which lias has emanated flora palk paik city from time to time has arisen from the tact fact that the management ot of the park utah has been car carrying out a system of exploration which it if successful will open up a virgin virgin territory and thereby prolong the life and prosperity ot of the camp for many years it lias has been believed that the fissure system so productive in the ontario the silver king coalition and other famous park city producers was cut oft off by a great porphyry dike which cuts ta the ie mineral zone almost at right angles in the ontario mine consequently nea nearly aly all of the work done in the district has been in ili the ground to the west of the porphyry intrusion notwithstanding the weight of evidence in ili favor of the theory that the ontario dike had cut oft off the deposits lying to the westward the park utah company one of the judge allied companies some time ago began a campaign exploration to ascertain it if the ontario fissure system would not prove as productive to the east in virgin ground as it had in the older part of the camp work is ink i in ili regard to the success of this I 1 work in the park utah ground geo W Lam Lani hourne bourne preB dent and general manager of the judge allied comi j bantes said that ore had been en ell countered to the east of the Orf ontario tario property in sufficient quantity to warrant the belief that this virgin territory had poss lilies not has the vein system being explored I 1 at present approximately the same strike and dip as the ontario fissure he said but the character and values of the ore are such as to favor the opinion that the continuation of the mineral channel had been struck to the east of the intrusion which has been believed to tonn form the line of demarcation marea mar cation tion between the mineralized and non mineralized parts of the cam camp p however much exploration work will have to be done before it can an be proved that the vein in which the recent strike in ili the park utah were made is the continuation of the ontario fissure system said mr lambourne Lam hourne nevertheless even it if this fissure should prove to be other than ihan a continuation of af the ontario r the deposits opened up recently in the park utah are of such value and magnitude according to mining men who have visited he property as to indicate that th camp is bout about to enter upon an all era of increased production and augmented development ill iner dilation Etell he work has been carried o ol oi i in n the paik utah from the ontario lower drain tU tunnel rinel owned by the contado company and the daly mining minin beoni pany of which latter coni com pan the tha judge allied companies hold a controlling interest approximately feet from the portal of the file oil oi tario tunnel a crosscut to prospect the important fissures of the pirk utah property was begun several shoots of excellent shipping ore all on oil the same horizon I 1 have been cut by the crosscut called the 1800 foot level one of these shoots has been followed on the strike of the vein for a distance of about feet crosscuts Cross cuts run at intervals of sixty feet according to mr lambourne Lambo ume prove that the shoot has a width of from five to twenty seven feet ot of shipping ore furthermore on oil the 1400 foot level which on oil tile the dip of the vein is approximately feet higher than the 1500 foot level tour four or five feet ot of shipping ore has been opened it is said which the management masa gement believes to be the upward extension of the found below inasmuch as the 1500 foot level underlies all of the formations proved so productive product live in ili the district and a as 9 the ore so far found lies in ili tile the quartzite underlying the favorable lime stones officials of the company believe that the importance of the work as it nears the sediment aries thought to lie feet above Is increasing at present enough ore has is been blocked out on oil the 1500 foot level says mr lambourne Lambo ume to con continue t dinue shipments without any interrupt Inter interruption rup t ion to facilitate the handling of tile the ore the car ar equipment has been improved with the decrease in ili the flow of water ater mining conditions are immeasurably improved the value of the ore which is a clean su sulphide t lies chiefly in ili its silver content conten t with appreciable quantities tips of gold and lead strike made in ill judge mine in a raise from the foot level of the judge property in ili tile the middle vein system a deposit of mining size I 1 and value has been encountered on a new horizon ot of a fissure which on other levels has been very in productive during the last forty feet ot of progress in this two compartment raise now up feet above the toot loot level the ore has opened up to width 0 of from four to five feet samples sam ples ashow that the average content of the ore Is about 35 per cent lead and 35 ounces of silver according to mr lambourne with any round of holes the limestone contact is expected to be broken into where the management la 13 confident even more interesting conditions will be discovered on tic the 1700 and the 2100 levels Is v els of the daly west exploration work Is being undertaken in unexplored blocks of ground which it Is thought have great potentiality in several places place this work has already resulted in the opening up ot of substantial exposures of 0 ore I 1 la in the daly property much im wark HAA hp haon ia ment 0 of the lower part of the dihe formation which in ili other adjoining adjoin ine properties les has been richly productive but which in the daly mine has not been as yet explored the improvement pro in labor conditions which has permitted the undertaking of development work tor f or many months impractical because of mining costs Is a large factor says mr lambourne in ili the improvement of the physical condition ot of the judge allied properties tuesdays salt lake tribune igich AT KING word from superintendent blye of the king consolidated this morn ing confirms the report that a rich streak of silver copper ore was uncovered wednesday of this week in a crosscut feet above the level of the main tunnel the ore found is under the contact with the black lime shale and in a grey limestone it is estimated the ore will assay bat at least mr blye further says that there is a slight showing of ore in the root of the iron drift west of the tunnel where the top of the heading has grazed the bottom of the ore body exposed in the drift above the ore shoot has not yet dipped to the lower drift in tact fact it is now thought it may wot come into this drift at all but turn upward toward the overlying limestone bedding the 1 lower heading is ii being extended under the ore to get away from the water which made it impracticable to follow the ore with the drift in which it was first opened work has been resumed in the no I 1 raise back from the iron drift toward the portal of the tunnel this raise is in a fault fissure which corresponds in dip and strike with a producing fissure opened far to the northwest by a neighboring company the Is to prospect the fissure at the geological level in which in the adjoining territory it makes high grade ore the main spiro tunnel is bang pushed steadily on toward the comstock shaft workings of the king consolidated on its way it will pass through the D and M fissure a vein which yielded shipping ore near the surface and which Is expected to be generously enriched in ili the formation where it will be penetrated by the tunnel CROSSCUTS an assessment asses of 10 cents per share has been levied upon silver king consolidated mining company stock this assessment will be delinquent lin quent october 22 sales late date november 15 superintendent john ellsworth of tile the judge smelter after a months visit in boston and other big cities of the east returned home the first of the week the gentleman reports a splendid outing and says conditions con il 1 generally are on the upgrade up grade everywhere he visited there is a long list of delinquent stock stockholders bolders because of the last assessment ses of the reeds peak consolidated soli dated company sales day however is not until october ath and many may pay up by that time the reeds peak is good property lacking only capital to make it a steady producer this property Is located av over er in ill the cottonwoods Cotton woods but several Par kites are interested therein some very rich ore is being mined on the 1100 of the lung king coalition and is only one place of I 1 many any on oil the various levels where huge hug ebadi bodies of both that alist and second class ores have been uncovered and which will largely increase the output when conditions are again normal which will be very soon now the new mil of this wonderful producer is nearing completion steel workers and ri making things hum and fast obliterating all evidences of the recent big conflagration there are great things just ahead for the hallner banner camp of utah joe
