Show death of robert bennie robert bennie a rainer miner by occupation and a resident 0 of the park for or some twenty years died at I 1 monday morning at the vate rate hospital of 0 mrs margaret dark clark where he had been taken a few days previous suffering from obstruction of the bowels ile he had been twice leaded while working in the tha mines and for years had been a sufferer from lead rheumatism the poison settling in his joints and incapacitating him for work except it be a very light occupation mr air B ennie bennie was born in lanark banark shire scotland feb 5 1856 being in his year coming coining to america when a young man he worked in al the coal mines of pennsylvania a number of years taking out his citizenship papers in Alle ghaney county later he came out west following the same occupation in colorado and wyoming and coming to park city was employed in the daly west and other m mines ines of the camp being known as a competent miner faithful and reliable but tearless fearless in asserting himself for the right as he saw it mr air bennie was a brother ol 01 of I 1 wm win bennie who died in the park in 1912 and james bennie who died in 1917 ile he was married in the old country two gills and two boys coming from the marriage one of the girls dying in eaily childhood the union was unhappy and incompatible however on acco account of 0 religious differences and a mutual separation resulted he not having heard from any of his family for fifteen years and having lost all trace of them scrupulously honest thoroughly independent frugal and thrifty by nature he took care of the hard bard earned money of his boiking days and although for years he had not been a wage earner he left an estate the amount ol of which was a surprise to his friends and relatives ile he had patriotically invested most of his savings in liberty bonds and war saving stamps it was his dying wish that the residue ot of his estate go 90 to ill his family amily and an effort will be made to loco locate te them though there Is but a faint clue to work on as ha never spoke of his private affairs to anyone robert bennie was a devoted and faithful member of uintah lodge no 7 P F A M ontario chapter no 3 R A M and malta gom com mandl mandery ry no 3 knights templar he was buried under tho the auspices of the funeral taking place from masonic hall wednesday afternoon and interment being in id masonic plot of 0 glenwood cemetery rev dawson of the community church officiated official ed and a quartet co composed in of A mrs irs T J Rassmus soll mrs A P ridge and C T and J W stoner with miss louise accompanist rendered several beautiful selections the body laid in state at the homo home of mrs ja james in e s dencle nn 1 e up to the day ot of the funeral she attending him with sisterly devotion iu his last days and doing all in ill her power to ease his sufferings mrs william bennie now located in iccil nevada was also in attendance at the funeral |
