Show statement from E W robinson 0 V fellow citizens many poisons with whole I 1 have not nol had bad tile the pleasure of discussing elvie civic affairs in park city and to hom I 1 am not personally known have bave requested that I 1 make a statement 0 of what my policy will be in tile the ent of my lily being elected mayor this request is eminently proper and is their perfect right the courtesy extended me in tile the nomination is sincerely appreciated first firs it if I 1 am correctly informed ss is to 10 the finances of the city and its probable future income I 1 prefer to make no specific promises but in case of 0 my election I 1 shall do everything in my illy power to make the best of prevailing conditions and maintain the past enviable record of park city lis is a desirable place in which to live second owing to the close proximity of the homes of the city I 1 believe that every every precaution should ile be taken to improve sanitary conditions and to minimize the dangers from fire third with an abundance of water generally available the frequent flushing of sidewalk gutters would the part of wisdom fourth 1 I stand for all proper encouragement coura gement to the public bibry cause and hope to see lome joine i place set apart and properly arranged as a fit play ground tor for the children who are now compelled to ds i on tile the streets fifth I 1 hope in case of 0 pl not to lie be narrow bigoted or tit i bigot laced but to grant every man mail the lie right to conduct all any business without the least interfering aring aith established hours of opening enina or closing etc aly aim will be to cr co operate with tile the business man the laborer the miner tile the taxpayer tax payer etc tor for a greater business a giester gi eater payroll pay roll a greater city sixth I 1 believe that there is no good reason tor for tile many eye sores in the shape of dilapidated delapi dated houses barns sheds sidewalks etc to mar the otherwise beautiful appearance of park city seventh Sev elith probably something should be done to increase the revenue of the city but since the people have to bear the burdens of such increase directly or indirectly I 1 feel that the taxpayers should have a voice in all such matters eighth my aly faith is in the future of park city I 1 believe that the morale of the citizenry is just as important as the morale of an army the slinia that predicts grass growing on main street that calls this the beginning of the end that we are on the toboggan that the mines are playing out oui etc etc is unjustifiable injurious and wrong the let loose spirit Is a mistake regardless ot of who may be mayor or councilmen let us stand for our city leep keep it up physically and spiritually and nd support mho whomever mever the major majority of the electors lectors lec tors see fit to elect to serve them m respectfully E W |
