Show JUDGE C W MORSE THE RECORD was always an admirer of judge charles W morse this week we received tile the following letter and clipping from W B lowrance of topeka kansas which me e gladly publish because we know it will mill prove of interest to many of 0 our readers the letter reads the other morning I 1 picked up a kansas city journal one of the most mort prominent papers in this part of 0 the united states and found a write up of judge chas W morse of salt lake city I 1 knew judge morse when he wall a young man and I 1 was very much pleased indeed to know of the great success lie he Is hav ing he has many friends in kansas who are very proud of 0 his success and as he has a natural judie judicini judici tai Ai mind it ft is more than likely his utah friends may place him on the supreme court of 0 your state I 1 send you this lipping clipping thinking perhaps aou ou mould be interested in it ft salt lake july 23 charles Cli arles W morse ot of this city is a kansas man who lias has won success in ills his chosen profession the law when lie he was a young man he was clerk ol of the district court of sumner county kas and began to practice law at wellington in 1883 in 1885 he removed to garden City where he soon became one of the prominent lawyers in that part of 0 kansas he was city attorney ot of garden city in 1886 and held other positions of trust in 1888 judge morse removed to this city here he engaged in the practice ot of the law for twelve years and his ability as a lawyer was such that he was selected by his friends as a candidate tor for district judge of 0 salt lake city in 1900 ile he was elected then reelected elected re in 1904 again in 1908 and gain again 1 in 1912 and is now the presiding judge ot of that court the court consisting ot of five judges judge morse was invited to deliver the address this year before the topeka bar association but on account of his judicial duties he was unable to do so and cancelled the engagement he is a prominent mason in utah was grand master in 1901 and received the thirty third degree in the scottish rite in 1907 judge morse has many friends in kansas who will be glad to know ot of ills his success |
