Milnes Milne's Winnie the Pooh stories at Bountiful High School THE POOH stories have been favorites with boys and girls for more than 40 years Generation after generation have taken to their hearts such fanciful characters characters char char- as Willie Kanga the Kangaroo her baby Roo Rabbit Rabbit Rab- Rab bit Owl Piglet and the donkey Winnie the Pooh directed by Vern Adix was performed before enthusiastic audiences at atthe atthe the Pioneer Memorial Theatre last week This week it is visiting visit visit- ing schools in the Salt L La a k e area r TO HELP create the proper atmosphere for the charming fantasy Frankie Bliesner has used imagination and humor in creating the costumes Student designer Michael Sharp met the challenge of building sets that appeal to young people and displayed displayed dis- dis played particular ingenuity in inthe inthe the scene which has Willie using a balloon to fly to the top of a tree The only juvenile in the cast is Bobby Briggs who plays the therole therole role of Christopher Robin All All' the other characters in Winnie the Pooh are toy animals who display a simple warm warmhearted hearted humor that makes a strong appeal appeal ap- ap peal to children Taking these parts are Ben Lokey Keith Smart Dan Handley Hand Hand- ley Sherry Patterson Rena Dusenberry and Allyson Beech Beech- er PERFORMANCE at Bountiful High School is scheduled for 4 15 p m. m The presentation at Bountiful is arranged through the cooperation of the Bountiful Young Peoples People's Theater Asso- Asso are I to r Ben Lokey Jokey as Winnie Sherry Patterson os I Kanga the Kangaroo and Mary Walker as Piglet |
