| Show MRS LUCY B YOUNG DEAD mrs lucy bigelow young the widow of president brigham young died last night at her home at north first west of general debility at the age of 74 years mrs young survived her husband twenty seven years she mine to salt lake alley with the second company of pioneers who arrived here la 1848 she vaa born in coles county illinois in 1831 her parents cam from massachusetts several years before she was born and settled there for the purpose of taking up farming lands it was during the persecutions of the cormons mormons that her parents became acquainted with their religion but they never endorsed while a girl mrs young felt kind iv toward the cormons mormons and finally embraced their religion she joined the church before the death of president joseph smith and accompanied the migration to missouri where she became acquainted with brigham young in the year 1816 she was married to brigham young at winter quarters abar omaha just before he left with the first company of pioneers she started a year later in the second company which was met by president young on the north platte river and arrived here in the year 1848 mrs young was the mother of three slaughters all of them now living but two of them are not members of the mormon church her children are lira dora young hagan mrs susan young gates and mrs J A sanborn SALT LAKE NOTES mrs alfrida T hooley is charged idith insanity in a complaint sworn to before county attorney she will probably be arraigned lu the district court today fred T pleaded guilty to the charge of grand larceny in the police court yesterday morning he was held 10 lo the district court under bail is alleged to have stolen from th residence of B A hoaglin at elguin west street upon the of last december jewelry and to the amount of the western mantle tile concrete company which has a capital astock of divided into shares ot the par value of 1 each filed articles of incorporation yesterday in the office of the county cleric the incorporators are edward hill iierman charles hender jaon harold berrum and mrs emily E hill the headquarters of the company is in salt lake |
