M Park celebrated their year of marriage at ata a restaurant dinner hosted by their sons and daughters THE TilE COUPLE was married at the Davis County courthouse on Mar 3 1915 Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LOS Temple in September September Sep of 1915 At the time of their marriage mar mar- marriage they were both residents of Salt Lake County where they made their first home After After Af Af- ter their marriage ceremony ceremony emony they moved to to- Idaho where they farmed for a year They moved back to Salt Lake and made their home home there here until until un un- un til 1933 when they to Woods Cross WHILE LIVING in Salt Lake County Mr Park served a term termon on the Granite School Board In 1936 they moved to Layton where Mr Park a again ain farmed and then worked for the tre Layton Layton Lay Lay- ton Su Sugar ar factory He gradually gradual gradual- ly Iv began keeping keening sets of DC books for several business establish establish- ments Eventually one of his accounts became that of Layton Layton Lay- Lay Layton ton town He started keeping this account in 1944 He later became Layton town clerk then when the area expanded into a city became city recorder HE HELD these positions for 17 years until he was appointed appoint appoint- ed to fulfill the term of Harry Strong county clerk who died in 1960 Mr Park has been the county clerk since August 15 IS 1960 BOTH MR l and Mrs Park have been very active in their church Mr Park has served as superintendent of t the h e and and the Sunday School He served for four years as stake clerk of the North Davis Stake and as bishop of the Layton Layton Lay Lay- Layton ton ward for five and one one- half years He is currently first counselor of the Layton Stake presidency a position which j he has held for 12 years A musician Mrs Park has taught music and served as chorister for the Singing Mothers Moth Moth- ers in both the South Davis Stake and nd the North Davis Stake She has also been very active In the Relief Society and Primary organizations of the LOS Church TilE THE COUPLE has five sons and daughters They a are r e James M M. Park Woods Cross Alma B Bountiful Mrs E Earl Ear a r 1 Mary Hamblin Clearfield Mrs Herbert Jean Petersen Salt Lake City and Mrs Don Ann Cottrell Kaysville They have 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren Their son James is an an assistant assistant assistant assist assist- ant clerk of the Bountiful LOS Stake and their son Alma js is bishop of th the B Bountiful l ward |
