| Show prisoner serving sentence lor vagrancy makes a vain dash for t liberty this afternoon when the guard at alie city prison thos lever started to take the prisoners out to the stockade to while away the fleet ins hours by chasing the rocky chunks nimble sledges one of the prisoners made a dash for liberty lie ran west to the corner of the stockade and then turned south continuing across awen ty sixth street and disappearing in tho lots on the south side of the street guard lever fired two shots of bird pellets at the hobo but they went far from the disappearing target cincer wilson who waa riding a bicycle west on twenty sixth near tho corner of lincoln heard the shots fired and turning saw the prisoner run south across twenty sixth he sprinted south on lincoln and caught the escape as ho emerged from alio block on twenty seventh the fellow was returned to his former confining employment at the stockade his name is frank wilson and he has only six days remaining of a 25 day sentence to serve lie and a companion were sentenced nineteen days ago on a charge of vagrancy at the time having stolen property in their possession it is thought wilson or beddy as he is known is wanted somewhere else for some crime as he seems very anxious to get away being ilia third or fourth attempt the fellow was brought up before judge stowell this afternoon on a charge of attempting to break jail and was sentenced to twenty five days more |
