The applicants will be subject sub-ject to an examination but not to civil service requirements. The census bureau is now engaged enga-ged in organizing the force of super sup-er visors who will be required, a task which will be well advanced by the comming autumn. It is then the intention of the bureau, Mr. Steuart said, to take up the selection selec-tion of the big army of enumerato-, rs for th enationwide task of canvassing can-vassing the population.agrieultur al and other statistics. At least one eimmera!6r will be required in every ev-ery political subdivision.
