Show AT HIGH SCHOOL A MOST ENJOYABLE entertainment ON thanksgiving the high school made of their thanksgiving celebration a very interesting event they worked for weeks in its arranging anil awl in preparing tho the participants the excellent program was the result of the united efforts ot of the senior anad junior el classes asses seconded by the teachers miss moffett in particular who superintended super intended the scenic arrangements it was a very successful affair and about pupils and parents were in attendance er crowding the high school room to its utmost capacity all were enthusiastic and earnest and arc are proud of the success of the function the high school room was beautifully decorated with the national colors and the school colors yellow an ani 1 black and on the walls hung many pictures of puritan scenes the blackboards were covered with cartoons cir of the thanksgiving of of today and some of them were very humorous tha the laboratory room was wag improvised into a stage the large folding doors being removed and curtains hung instead at 2 the pro program ram was commenced and was as follows presidents thanksgiving proclamation miss macmullan hymn lk misses lisses hume peebles thompson and hammond Mes sra carhart klaus durton burton and belnap debate have the puritans been too severely censured for their belief in and treatment of witchcraft affirmative firma tive Jun juniors lors thorburn and evans negative seniors alsa a stone Aless rs carnaban and stone the judges were mrs emerson cates and macmillan and the affirmative were the winners of the contest A piano and violin duel duet by miss bannister and mr wilson was heart lly fly received it was swedish melodies melo dips and variations and tho the artistic ability of both showed up tip to splendid advantage A vocal solo by 11 II R macmullan was highly appreciated as was the piano solo by miss baker A very beautiful number was scenes from miles standish sh the stage was arranged with all tho the appurtenances ten ances of an old colonial home The there was a spinning aneel the stack of guns fireplace strings at of dried apples on the walls etc and the whole was lit ut by candles priscilla llla was r by miss barr milea standish sh by mr spargo and n john aiden alden by mr carhart carbart A very beautiful piano eolo solo by miss clisby followed and then came the tableaux the stage was rearranged to represent the olden days of puritan indian troubles and the scenes and participants parti cl were as follows first scene gov bradford Tec receiving elving Moese Blosse messenger enger second Masse camp and anti receiving bra bradfordt Brad fords rep reply third puritans going to church j Ind indians lans belnap stanley snow ternes turner and mcgregor puritans spargo lockhead fletcher etcher FJ nelson and carhart puritans going to church miss adams and mr fletcher pletcher the whole waa was new and novel aej the entire audience thoroughly enjoyed it |
