ordains as follows follows follows fol fol- lows 1 That Section 1 of the Davis County Dog Ordinance be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows SECTION 1 DOG TAX COL COL- LECTOR There is hereby created the position of County Dog Tax Collector for the purpose of licensing and controlling dogs in the County area and the provisions pro pro- visions of or this apply only to the area of or D Davis vis County outside the limits of Cities and Towns The Dog Tax Collector shall be appointed by bythe bythe bythe the Davis County Commission and he shall work under the direction direction di die of or the Commission and shall shaH either be paid a salary or ora ora ora a commission as determined by bya a Resolution of oC the Board of Davis Dans County I 2 That Section 5 of or the Davis County Dog Ordinance be and the same hereby is amended to read road as follows SECTION 5 LICENSING AND REGISTRATION OF DOGS a. a It shall be unlawful for any person to own keep harbor harbor harbor har har- bor or maintain a d dog g or dogs over the age of four months without registering and obtaining obtaining obtaining obtain obtain- ing a license for such sueh dog or dogs from the County License Director or the Dog Tax Col Col- lector The annual fee for or such license shall be for each male or spayed female and 1000 for each fe fe- fe male Initially no female dog shall be licensed as spayed without a certificate from a registered graduate veterinarian ian inn that an has been performed upon such female female fe Ce fe- fe male dog Thereafter the applicant applicant ap ape for a license of a female dog having theretofore filed med a certificate as above mentioned shall only be required to sign signa a statement that an omy has been performed The annual license period under this ordinance shall be on a calendar year rear basis b. b Payment of license fee for all dogs and dog kennels shall be made at the office of or the County License Director or to the Dog Tax Tai shall be unlawful unlawful ful lul for any person to own keep harbor or maintain a dog or dogs over o the age of four months after March 1 of each year without having obtained a license and it shall also be unlawful unlawful un un- lawful for any person to own keep or maintain a dog kennel after March 1 of or each year ear without having obtained a dog kennel license 3 That Section 7 of or the Davis County Dog Ordinance be and the same hereby is amended to read as follows SECTION 7 DOG KENNELS I a. a Any person owning keeping keeping keep keep- ing harboring or maintaining three or more dogs dogs' over the age of or four months shall be bo considered to be operating a i dog kennel I b. b No person shall operate I or maintain a dog kennel without with out first obtaining a dog kennel ken nel net license from the County License Director or Dog Tax 4 Collector c. c All applications for Cor licens licens- licenses es to operate or maintain a dog kennel shall be submitted in writing upon printed forms provided provided pro pro- vided by the County License Di rector d. d The rhe County City Health Inspector In shall inspect licensed kennels for sanitation at least once a year c. c purchase at an absolute absolute lute price of ot 1000 and under no circumstance shall the Dog I Tax Collector accept more or orless orless orless I less than this amount b. b Any dog that bites a person person person per per- son and breaks the skin shall shaH be placed under quarantine f forthe for forthe r the period of or 14 days If at the end of oC that time the dog has not developed rabies as determined determined determined deter deter- mined by a qualified registered veterinarian it may be re reo leased d to the owner upon his request Provided however t that the dog shall not be released released released re re- re- re leased until the board bill has been paid at the rate of per day but that the owner shall not be required to pay any other impounding fees If It the dog is not found rabid and the owner does docs not redeem the dog after three days notice the dog may be sold or destroyed In the event that the dog is determined determined determined de de- de- de not to be rabid and the owner cannot be located thE dog may be destroyed after aCter five lve days das c. c Any impounded dog suffering suffering suf suI fering from mange distemper or other serious disease excluding excluding ex ex- eluding rabies may be released to the care of a veterinarian at the request of the owner if such owner can be located If such uch dogs are strays they I I Ishall shall be
